Hollywood Hills

I had loved the original Stella McCartney sneaker/wedges but could never justify or want to spend $500+ on a trend item. I think this is one of those age old blogger questions, do you wear knockoffs or do you not? Which one jeopardizes the integrity of what bloggers are trying to do: wearing knockoffs or wearing the real thing? Its about accessibility right? Or shock and awe? We have this platform, right, to voice what we think is right/wrong etc. so are we using it properly? IMG_0100

In the end, I decided all this is just about wearing what I want to wear, what I like to wear, and putting it online and hoping people enjoy. For those of you who have been long time readers and for those of you just joining I just gotta take the time to say how much I've enjoyed having you guys around. It's been a real fun ride.

Anyway, this all sounds too much like a goodbye note. I think I'm just getting sentimental because school has begun and I've had to face the fact that I am a senior, i.e. on top of the high school food chain and I have no idea how I got there. Oh well, I'm letting all that go. I have a feeling this is going to be the best year to date. I'm so ready.

Denim Overalls

I bought these beautiful overalls a couple months ago on ebay after seeing them on a girl at the Fairfax Flea Market. I was just in luck that the auction was up in a couple hours and these babies were immediately mine (thank you, internet). I thought it was high time to post them considering my last post on Current/Elliott. Truly, this piece of denim is magnificent.

Ever since getting my regular seeing eye glasses from SEE I've been enjoying wearing glasses in all shapes in sizes. For this outfit I couldn't decide on the Super ones or a pair of classic Ray Ban Wayfarers. Oh it's good that its still the sunny summer months.

More details here.

It's EYE Time You See A Doctor

Ever since beginning driving last year, I noticed a problem in my vision. I found myself saying "Can you read what that sign says?" to whoever was sitting next to me more times than I would've liked. Thus, I decided that I needed to go in and get my eyes checked. While it turns out my eyesight isn't that bad, my left eye definitely could use some help and made driving glasses a must. I visited LensCrafters at first but was severely bored with the results, even the ones from Chanel and Prada. They were just so... plain. That's why I was super excited when SEE Eyewear offered for me to come in a choose a pair of frames that were more suitable/exciting. When they called and said my glasses had arrived and ready for pickup about a week after choosing, I had to bring my camera along because the interior of their store is that cool...

These looked like candy in a candy store. I wanted to wear them all at the same time.

Love the pastels.

The story behind SEE is pretty interesting in terms of brand focus and design. Founder Richard Golden aimed to create product from a bunch of different views, therefore he collected artists from around the world to design under the collective brand of SEE. The final result is a store full of super beautiful and interesting frames.

These tortoise shell frames were a close tie with the ones I decided on.

The selection I picked out by the end of my first visit. I loved the unexpected shades of blue and pink, but there were a couple of classic browns that I loved.

The sunglass wall, every pair $99

My final choice! They're kind of geeky in the best way, I love the oversized feel and the color. I want to wear them all the time now, not only while driving.

I think I was in the middle of conversation for this photo. I'm wearing vintage black Levi's shorts, Tiffany & Co. watch, Hawaiian shirt from Possession Vintage and a brown leather Coach satchel.

Thanks Brian and co. over at SEE! For store locations and more frames visit them at their website over here.

No Greens, No Glory

IMG_8864IMG_8940

About a week ago I decided to have a whole day in Los Angeles just to myself, driving around, stopping in random places. Of course, no day would be complete without some sort of vintage store, so I visited Shareen downtown and picked up this adorable polka-dot number. It feels like it's from the 40s and I love it. The hot weather this week has been pretty intolerable, but it was the perfect condition to debut this beauty.

Motorcycle Jacket

IMG_8570IMG_8466IMG_8379IMG_8533IMG_8653IMG_8479
Finally, full photos of the motorcycle jacket of my dreams. Despite it's heavy leather and hardware I find myself reaching for it again and again. This dress is also quickly becoming a favorite. My friend picked it out at a thrift store in Oregon and then when she put it back my mom thought it would be a good dress for my cousin who lives in Chicago. However, because she's several thousand miles away I thought I'd wear it in the meantime. Now I don't know if she'll be able to get her hands on it. Sorry Taylor!

I would write more but I'm currently in the midst of finishing Whats Your Number? and am really distracted by the fact that I kinda like Anna Faris... but mostly distracted because of how much of a hunk Chris Evans is. Now you know where my priorities lie. Quick question though, why does every romantic comedy have to have a Natasha Bedingfield song? Just a thought, Hollywood.

Luella x Target leather motorcycle jacket, vintage dress, Calvin Klein black heels, vintage black bracelet and silver bangle, Mr. Kate Kaila ring, Loki cuff, and Lynx bracelet.
