Black Silk

Im in love with this silk draped dress from Spanish Moss Vintage's new clothing collection called Suzanna. Its the perfect party dress. I can not give enough praise for its structure, feel, and overall quality. I want to wear it all the time.

Speaking of wearing all the time, Ive been wearing this starling skull pendant for four days straight now. I feel like Im cheating on all of my other jewelery, but this thing is just too cool. At first I thought it was a bit creepy, but now I just think its fantastic. Ive started selling them here.

Embroidered

Bought this skirt at the Flea Market on Sunday for $12 lovely dollars. I had to roll the elastic waist band and make it a paper bag skirt because it was too long, but I dont really care either way because the embroidery and pattern on the thing is so extraordinary.

Im going to try to base my entire wardrobe on this skirt. This is the style direction I would like to go in.

Notes

Arent these amazing? Chloe is one of my favorite labels. Daringly beautiful ensembles have been walking their runways for the past few seasons.

Some of my other favorite designers/label (this current season and past seasons) include:

Bottega Veneta Fall 09- Glamour to the max. The makeup artist also did a splendid job. You cant get more elegant and striking than this.

ADAM- Famous for sportswear, started with tshirts and grew from there. And sportswear may be Adam Lippes' thing but truthfully I feel like his strongest point specifically is pants. Last season I fell in love with a pair of silky navy trousers, and this season, Im afraid its happened again. Look at these beauties above. What the heck?! I want them. Badly. Now. Please.

D+G Fall 2009- Incredible stuff here. Beautifully made, incredibly inspired. I love love love.

Proenza Schouler Spring 2010- I thought this was bloody brilliant. Makes me want to wear neon. All the time. Not an easy feat.

Ive been featured in the latest October issue of Glamour Greece. Seeing as how Im so infatuated with the country its a great honor. Big thanks to Christiana, who Glamour Greece had contacted to feature herself and her favorite blogs in this months biggest trend (which is high waisted skirts). She then contacted me and the rest is history. Check out her blog here.

Also, I did an interview over at La Mimi, check it out here.

AND! I never really talked about the Who What Wear Editorial I did in August. Check it out here, I was photographed with my girls Karla, Krystal and Geri.

This is my new twitter background. Isnt it such an astounding photo?

I saw these leggings when I was shopping for my backpack at American Apparel on Friday. I grabbed a pair and exclaimed how futuristic they looked, but then put them back on the rack. Now, two days later here I am still thinking of them. I think theyd be the most perfect leggings as pants since their thicker and could pass for them. I really want a pair in black and silver...

Babydoll

I really love long silhouettes. Given the choice between a short dress or a long dress Id pick the long one. It feels more elegant to me, more refreshing, more glamorous. A vintage slip is an easy and cheap, (normally you can find one at your local thrift store or flea market), solution if you're thirsting for long lines.

Howd You Get So Funky?

Handmade Egyptian necklace, 1940s snake bracelet, Frassy Rags white slip tanktop, AA white shorts.
Ive had a fascination/obsession with Ancient Egypt ever since I was little little. Ive had Egypt themed birthday parties, complete with pyramids in the backyard, dressed up as Cleopatra three times and I own countless books on the subject. This collar Im wearing was part of my Cleopatra costume one year, handmade specifically for the occasion. Upon thinking of the fond memories, I fished the tiled beauty out of a drawer and wore it.

Im wearing cat eyes here using Bobby Browns gel eyeliner in violet ink and ultra-fine eyeliner brush. These are my new favorite makeup items. I wanna wear cat eye all the time. Watch this video to make you smile, cause its one of the greatest things ever:

I would have died to see this live, though that would've been physically impossible since the song is older than me.

On another note, see Andy Samberg do the funniest impression/skit here.

Feminine Noir

This whole past week has kind of been a little crazy. Coming back from New York and all the late nights there made me tired for school, then I had a bunch of catch-up work, and somehow I managed to find myself at a party on Friday and didnt get back home till 2 am. But dont worry. Wasnt a rave or underage drinking or anything (I swear). Just a couple of actors and karaoke. Lots o' fun.

This skirt has become one of my favorites. I wore it this whole entire summer.

I bought two rosaries today, one of which Im wearing right now. So happy about them.

Im Drawing a Neon Blank

Marc by Marc Jacobs!
Im so happy I went! Super large thanks to Michael, Marissa, and Pat Fields for arranging it all!

Whats funny about the collection was that if I had seen it online, I would never have liked it, but seeing it live and fully just changes everything. The line was definitely M by MJ. Fun, upbeat prints and bold colors, occasionally the cheap-looking fabric or accessory, however, I would never wear it myself. Although, the exceptions are the incredibly adorable bow headbands, a beautifully designed, structured and thought out dress (whose luxe fabric made me want it terribly) and a pair of jade green knit pants (which look way better in person) . I didnt expect it to be the most outstanding thing, but it wasnt the worst either.

Karlie Kloss is unbelievable, by the way. I had never really bought into her success, but after seeing her in action my whole view of her has changed. The lights dimmed, the music started, and here comes Karlie opening Marc's show and stepping out like shes some hot mamma jamma and she knows you know it. Armed with a cat like wry smile, legs longer than yours, and a confidence that utterly seeps from her, she stole the show.
Kloss is dynamite.

Wandering

Im sick of chains, the 80s, studs and the whole rocker look, and the fact that I still dont own a rosary.
I want feminine, ethereal, glamourus, and beautiful looks.

Went to Marc by Marc Jacobs today (more on that later) and I saw two people, a guy and a girl, not together, wearing the Christopher Kane howling monkey tshirt. Is it just me or is that unoriginal to the extreme? I think the whole point of that tee was supposed to be that it was sooo original, and yet, now its completely not.
ETA: Okay, so I guess some of you got offended or disagreed strongly with me on this one. I guess I wasnt saying this clearly. The whole hype about the shirt was that it was extraordinary and unlike anything any of us had ever seen before. As is most of Mr. Kane's stuff. However, suddenly its become nothing extraordinary because everyone was wearing it. Take the time to check out this post. Dont you think thats semi-ridiculous? However, this post is coming from a person whos just witnessed fashion week, which I will get into another post, but let me tell you. For the past five days Ive seen studs, the 80s, chains, and this CKane tee over and over again. Which can get very, very tiring. Especially since I thought NYFW was going to be unlike anything Id ever witnessed. (But thats for another post) Also. Im not trying to be original. Im trying to wear what I want to wear and figure out my own style, which I havent done yet. Also, also. I havent worn neon bike shorts in 4 months.
If I could own and wear everything in this current Elle editorial I would.
