Chinatown

My mom and I went to Chinatown for some lunch today. Set next to modern downtown LA, I really enjoyed looking at all of the buildings and stereotypical Chinese architecture. There wasnt much of a town, really, but I still got photos. I also picked up two necklaces there, one with a griffin on it, and the other with two monkeys with empty eye sockets clutching a bag of money... I hope to wear them a lot.

Ive always wanted to try wearing a jacket as a dress/shirt and so I took this lightweight army green jacket, buttoned it up and belted it.

army jacket- vintage
neon green bike shorts- AA
studded black belt- aunt's
black patterned bag- vintage
jade and black necklaces- chinatown
silver leather shoes- converse (my most favorite sneakers)

the necklaces added a nice polish to the whole look and I absolutely love the contrast between the shiny futuristic shorts and the rough army jacket. It's amazing how many different looks you are getting out of those shorts!

love the lanterns. I want to string them like that across my ceiling. Seattle's is a bit less traditional and more like a kind of gritty part of town where my family does our asian grocery shopping

wanted to say how i love seeing you re-use certain items in your looks like the bike shorts lately! it is inspiring to see someone who looks so great consistently re-using pieces in new ways, and they always add something. good job with your commitment to keeping up with blogging (while on vacation) love your updates :)

Nice, Chinatown! I live rather closeby to that area.

Question: I love the vintage look of your photos, I can usually only achieve that with film, are your photos film or do you use photoshop?
