My Hat's Off To You

I truly believe there is nothing like a good hat. Nothing! My super minor obsession with these pretty toppers started in December when I received this elegant brown hat with victorian lace (pictured below) from my aunt. Ive collected many since then and I thought I might showcase some of the ones that are my favorites, repeat offenders, or just plain constantly in rotation.

1. The Brown Hat with Victorian Lace. Probably my most favorite and prized hat. I wear it all the time and I really think its a fantastic finishing touch. The victorian lace is in perfect condition and is basically the cherry on top of the ice cream. The Great in Alexander. A Badge to a Police Officer. Without it, there would be no... awesome-ness. Or atleast the hat wouldnt be as rocking as it is.

2. The Mega Floppy Straw Hat. I just bought this.. for I think for a ridiculously great $8 or something. I imagine pulling this out a lot this summer and wearing it with pretty vintage dresses, dark unitards and my white crinoline.

3. The Black Whool Floppy Hat. I bought this second hand for $12. I couldnt believe my eyes because I knew about the AA one, and actually really wanted it, but was afraid to doll out the $40 for it. This one came as a fantastic alternative and it fits loveeely.

4. The Straw Wide Brim with White Ribbon. I have yet to wear this one, but its oh so pretty I thought I had to include it. This is definitely a summer hat, and I cant wait for that particularly season to come if only just to wear it...

5 & 6. The Bow Hats. Cream + Black. These two hats are actually not identical. They are from different hat makers, and one of them (the black one) had the bows added later on. My aunt first saw the cream one and thought it was so adorable she'd do the same to the black hat. And tada! The twins were born. (This reminds me of that woman who had a dark skinned baby and a white baby) I love both of them (the hats, not the babies) equally and Im lucky because if I have a lighter outfit Ill put on the cream one, a darker outfit, the black etc.

Final thought? GO OUT AND BUY A HAT! Its worth every penny!

I recently bought a floppy straw hat, but yours is just gorgeous! Love it! Will look stunning with floaty breezy dresses in Spring. Since I'm heading to Autumn/Winter I'm eyeing the wool felt hat ;)

GAHH AWESOMENESS OVERLOAD!!!

I really need to get a fabulous hat like your huge straw one for this summer at the beach so that my ridiculously pale skin does not become unfashionably marred by harmful UV rays!!!

your blog is PERFECTION, by the way....

i am SUCH a fan of these. i have never seen anyone besides mayim bialik herself work a blossom hat quite as well as you do. i've been scouring every vintage shop i can find for a hat like number two, but i'm afraid that they simply don't work with short hair.. i'm still looking for the one. until then, a more viable option for me might be a bowler a la andie walsh.

Hats are awesome. I need to get some more. My particular favourites are cloche hats, although they tend to look better on girls with short hair :(

Love the bow hats!
You certainly can pull of hats better than most. It looks totally natural on you. I think sometimes hats can create a bit of a costume/dress-up vibe but that's not at all the case when you rock of your your pretties ^o^

Thanks for showing us your beautiful collection!

Oh I completely adore hats! I am quite jealous of the ones you have. Luckily, my roommate is a mega hat person and I borrow some of hers when I need a fix. You should check out Ophelie headwear... I think you would like it alot!

hats are so pretty. And I love all of yours. if there is one thing I wish fashion would bring back it would be those crazy vintage hats that people wouldn't think of leaving the house without.
I myself just bought a straw cloche hat. it makes me feel so pretty whenever I wear it.

You look so great in hats, makes me jealous. I don't really suit most of them, except for random slouchy berets. My hair is too short and everything else makes me look like a boy! You look really good though, they are most definitely your signature. I esp. love the black wooly one! Keep the hats coming =D

Hats are just to die for. Fedoras, however, are my hat du jour.

sigh. if we only could return to the days when artistic hats were an everyday staple. :)
thanks for sharing!

I LOVE HATS!! They are a new obsession of mine. Up until recently, I was rather convinced that hats were not for me. That I looked bad in them. Then I decided I didn't care, and now I'm used to the way I look in them so I LOVE them!!! I have a cute red floppy one from target!
