Im wondering why people think they can tell me how to run my blog, especially when they say what "works" and what "doesnt work."

To the anonymous commenter that told me that quoting Shakespeare on my blog "just doesnt work" Id like to counter with the fact that Shakespeare is timeless, and are you saying that fashion and literature dont go hand in hand, even though both are categories of the arts? I am a lover of the theatre. I grew up with my family studying acting. My cousin was in a Shakespeare competition and went to state. I read his work in my spare time. Last year I starred as Hamlet in a comedic version of the play. Shakespeare is very much apart of my life as anything, in fact he contributed 200 words to the English language, and youre telling me that it just doesnt work. If this has to do with my age, Shakespeare can be read by a three year old or 90 year old, there is no age limit, except if you can understand whats been written on the page or not. This is my blog. Dont read it if you think the things I write "dont work."

You're so absolutely right! Just ignore that anynomous commenter, he's not worth your time. But you look amazing as always!
The way I see it, it's your blog, and whatever you feel works does work. The shirt is so cool, by the way ! :)
I was very happy to read that quote on monday's post! It's one of my favorite quotes from Hamlet, and there's really no reason you shouldn't post whatever you want.
:D
That Teesh is just so cool! I love your look!
I would love to find an answer to my question in the other post! :)
ps.don't waist time on stupid people.ds
Love the outfit!
& you tell em girl! It's your blog, you can do or say what you want to.
How lame of them to say that.
Cute outfit. I love Shakespeare, too - as far as I'm concerned, Shakespeare *always* "works." Haha :)
Woo! You go girl. I hate people who act like that.
Looking gorgeous as ever, and I'm def coveting that top!

haha, I feel like having someone insult you on your blog is almost like a rite of passage- enough people read it! But yea seriously, you can do whatever you want. Cute outfit by the way =)
Truth is, if you're gunna be annoymous, you're probably a cowardly asshole. Use a name, but only if ya got the balls! haha.
And Shakespeare is an insane legend who wrote all of my favourite plays, oh and the Hamlet comedy sounds good!
Well said! *applause*
Wow are you kidding me? Some people are crazy. What's the point of clothes if you don't wear what makes you happy? Anyways this tee is so amazing! You rock it.
Never feel like you have to justify your actions. People love you just the way you are! :-D
You look amazing, you always do, and it ALWAYS works. I vote that some people are too stupid to have computers. x
i agree, i love shakespeare and i think it works!
cool shirt x
I love your blog dearly, and I will continue happily read it with nothing but astonishment. Your fashion sense is impecible and I would love if we could exchange links.
With love,
rachel lynne
love this outfit. and my first reaction when i saw the quote on the last post was "hey! that shirt is very shakeperean! nice comparrison there" i don't know if that was what you were going for but that was how my brain worked
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck whoever said that. Shakespeare is classic and timeless and anyone who quotes him clearly has amazing taste (in my books). Romeo&Juliet is the greatest love story of all time. And it's YOUR blog and you can write whatever the hell you want!
ps - cute shirt
pps - Hamlet is also awesome
Lecturing us on Shakespeare works even less.
To Wendy - there's no need for comments like that. If you don't like what she writes, than leave. It's not hard. Don't read it, and if you do and you have nothing nice to say than say nothing.
I utterly agree with what you said about Shakespeare. He's timeless and I thought the qoute was wonderdul. It went really well with your outfit, and just ignore those rude people. You have an amazing blog in my opinion. :)
Dear Stylish Wanderer, ;)
Its funny how some people feel as though they can tell other people what to write on their own personal blogs.
You are truly inspirational, and Im sure you already know that there'll be dozens of people trying to break your spirits because of how jealous they are.I hope you don't take these things to heart! People will seriously find anything ( a typo, a wrong date, a slightly off bit of information..) and try attack you over it, not even politely correct you. These people don't know you, they'll never know you, and that moron commented as anonymous.
Keep up the good work!
its Shakespeare.how does it NOT work?
lol, you decide what is best for your blog! no one else!
oh wow! i really loooove the Leopard printed Tshirt!
that absoluetly looks great on ya!
simple but as cute as always!
nice... ;)
anyway, please do come visit my blog, would love to meet you there. :)
strange anyway, that people are reading blogs, they only wanna complain about...what's the point? but they are everywhere, don't care about them :P
that's so silly... whoever posted that obviously either (a) isn't very literate and hasn't come to terms with classic literature yet or (b)has no taste, creativity, or imagination whatsoever.
or an unfortunate combination of both.
love your blog! :)
i don't see anything wrong with putting a shakespeare quote on your blog. after all, it's your blog, and you have a right to post whatever you want to post! :)
i lovee the leopard shirt. :) i need to find a shirt like that!
AMen! lol, great blog keep up the good work. Haters should propel and empower you to go further!
http://www.styleanthem.blogspot.com
I really like the layering!! I don't like the "vintage tee, skinny jeans, weird necklace" trend that is going on- I love how you gave the shirt a totally different feel that fits your style.
And those boots are so good.
aghhhh that smart ass. it's a shame they don't know what they're saying. I love reading your blog. I love your pictures and outfits. keep it up.
i have my degree in english literature and, while he was never one of my favorites, i completely agree with your assertion that shakespeare is integral to the english language.
in short, just say what you want to say, girlie!
I just stumbled upon your blog and I love it!
Awesome tee. And I agree..Shakespeare is timeless.
even though sometimes i prefer to put down shakespeare and go for other kinds of literature this is your blog so fill it with all the pretty little things you like don't let some anonymous person put you down you have so many people who love and follow you and your blog just exactly how it is
Indeed! at LEAST 200...
including upstairs and downstairs, incarnadine, and (i think) assassin
Hey your right...This is your blog. And you can write whatever you wanted to..;D
And always bare in mind that nobody have the right to tell a person that it's piece "just doesn't work"!
You look great on your shirt anyway..=)Thanks for sharing it to us..;D
everybody quotes shakespear....he is like the most quotable person ever....i dont see why anyone would have a problem...the fucking 6th graders who insist on having a facebook quote shakespear in their status....really you're fine...quoting shakespear really isnt something out of the ordinary so i dont know why someone would over react...but not all comments will ever be good. so dont worry.
cute outfit
I like the shirt a lot
and i wrote a frikken spectacular paper on hamlet last marking period if i do say so myself...but i actually hated it lol
Don't listen to Anonymous, but devoting an entire post to defending yourself against one measly commentator doesn't make the caring-too-much disposition you've already created for yourself any less true-sounding. What you've said here honestly just sounds pretentious. Anyway, I like your shirt.
You go girl!
Hahaha I can't believe these dickheads who clearly hate your blog so much that they have to read it all the time and criticise every last detail.
I suppose that's the problem with being "successful" in the blogging world; for every 99 people who love you 1 will be a total bitch about it.
Don't worry about it and don't take one negative comment to heart. Everyone else thinks what you do is fab.
Oh my god thats crazy!! I absolutely adore shakespeare! My father actually is a writer and he too wrote a comedic version of hamlet called "Something rotten in Denmark" That I stared in! I'm so happy! no one I know reads shakespeare!!! Thankyouthankyouthankyou for showing that shakespeare is for everybody not just professors with patches on their elbows!Ahhh! So what is your favorite play?? Sorry I'm super pleased!
-Landis
Oh P.s. I love your blog. My top three fo sho ;)
If you really cared about the english language or Shakespeare, you'd use proper grammar.
epic, I'm totally with you
btw, I just finally read your "about me" section, we must have gone to the same highschool cuz I'm pretty sure I've made fun of that squirrel guy :P
I cant' image a better location for this look - you know how to pick 'em.
Your shirt's fantastic, and I think you're the cutest thing online!! :]
xxx
what a strange thing to say. I'm not sure what they mean by saying "it doesn't work."
I've yet to receive any hate comments on my blog and I'm not really sure how I will respond, if at all.
Keep doing what you do girlie, your blog is fab.
Oh yes, you tell them!
And just stopping by to say I love your blog and outfits; I absolutely adore them. :)
amen sista!! :D
forget the lame ones who would rather just criticize-do what you know how to do!
i've been following your blog and love it.
exchange links?

it's the chloé paraty in the duffel shape :)
Your blog is great (and unique) how it is <3
thank you for being one of the few readers who noted the racist picture... goodness some people will never learn.
haha did someone really comment that shakespeare on your blog "just doesn't work?" wow..
dont pay any attention to the anonymous post!!!! i may be a romantic, but i agree with you... Shakespeare is a classic!!
its your blog and its your personal style that makes it so amazing.
keep it up!
obviously a blog is your own personal creative outlet. by someone telling u how to run ur blog is like telling u how to run your life and telling you how u r meant to feel! i agree 100% that they have no business telling u how to run ur blog but on other matters i love the sharpness of the second picture ur tshirt is fab!

This is one of my favorite blogs and the ones that I make a point to read, even when I'm extremely busy. The Shakespeare is just fabulous (just like you), and let the haters hate!
Haha, I love the shirt.
I totally agree with you. Shakespeare is wonderful and literature and fashion totally go together. However, I do think that quote is a little cliche--which is really sad to me, because it's lost its meaning. People have heard it so many times that they don't even think about it and the fact that it actually is quite profound. Will really had way with words.
peoples are haterz. i think you look stunning and can write whatever the hell you want, wear whatever the hell you want, buy whatever the hell you want, and tell people to stick it wherever the hell they want.
haha. <3
You go girl! Tell them what they need to hear! I am all for personal style - be it outfits or quoSes. so by all means, ignore that ananymous reader and display your personal style! I love it!
You rock! That's the right attitude!
juliet xxx
Don't waist time to that anonymous..
Just bare on your mind that your blog is great.;D
Have a nice day..Keep on writing my friend.;D
I love the dress :) To be honest what doesn't work is stupid anonymus hate commenters, who are so pathetic they don't even leave a contact. The Bard rules, stick with him!
H
x
How sad are they (nasty commentors) that they purposely go out of their way to leave mean comments and yet lack the balls to leave a name or contact???
So pathetic.
You know what? You should know by now that you rock and that the world is just populated with idiots. There's nothing anyone can do about it.
BTW, I love the tee. so cool!
without a doubt that's very well said!!
:D
you look amazing! and i am also a theatre geek -shakespeare is timeless and i most definitely have friends who quote him on a regular basis. You're just ahead of the curve!
go,go girl
you know,heaters everywhere.
I love theatre too,right now I'm acting in a play,and i'll post the 'premierre' of it , in 1st April,on my blog.
check it out then, oif you want.
julls.
you go tell that anonymous, girl!
i totally agree with you!
you are so right! I adore Shakespeare and I think everyone should read his works. Don't listen to dumb people like that, you have a fantastic blog
Everyone's entitled to their own opinions.
So if you see something you don't like on thestylishwanderer's blog, don't complain about it. It's your own choice to arrive at her page and read what she has to say. Don't penalize her opinions.
ps. love the boots :)
To wendy:
Shakespeare work with EVERYTHING ART.
You clearly lack creativity.
To stylishwanderer:
that shirt makes you look like a wild tiger in the woods, i love it. keep it up dolly <3
I totally agree with you. people shouldn't tell you what to do or what to write because obviously you write for yourself and the people who likes you!
By the way, I love your shirt an^d the you put it in an outfit! ^
I can't believe someone would tell you that Shakespeare 'doesn't work'? What does that even mean!?
When I was in 6th grade my English teacher began reading us Shakespeare and we performed the plays. At first our parents thought this was slightly controversial (love, death, revenge, murder, etc) and that 'what could we possibly learn from Shakespeare' (small school, small town). My teacher persisted and by the time I was 12 I had read (and performed) Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Macbeth. When I got to highschool, the teachers couldn't believe we not only knew the plays, but their meanings, and the dynamics of each story.
Shakespeare has only IMPROVED my life, ever since I was a child. His work is beautiful and inspiring. Please post more Billy S and don't give 'Anonymous' the time of day!
go you and go Shakespeare! :)
WORK IT.
You shouldn't have to defend yourself on your own blog, I agree. People are dummmmb.
However, you are not. Keep doing what "works" for you haha :D
Like it!
Simple and lovely. (:
Whoever leave that comment is surely crazy and haven't read Shakespeare. I love your vintage shirt by the way! xxoxoxo
Anonymous commenters are just totally unnecessary. Bleh.
Love that tshirt, I'm thinking animal tshirts are the way forward for summer for sure.
That is so dumb that they would even say that, but way to go you for explaining why you put that on here.
Love the shirt and backround scene.
that cat tee is superb. you groove SW.
i currently have a hankering for explosive color. could you put together a wildly colorful ensemble?
love all your stuff.
frigging love this tshirt.
Dude, that panther tee is SOOOO COOOOL. I want one. :)
UGHH!H! i hate anons, they are soo miserable and mean. and YOU are a NINJA! I already said this but only Camille knows what your face really looks like. harhar, i hope my lame attempt at humour translates over the cybernet:)
@anonymous: BOOM, ROASTEDDDDDD
I love your tshirt. x
You opt to publish a public blog (which i happen to be a big fan of btw). The whole point of blogs is that you can interact and receive feedback. If you only want this feedback to be complimentary i suggest you only invite your friends to view it.
Healthy critique is the only way to improve. You should be pleased that people engage enough to have an opinion.
oh i see that hater Anonymous is out and about again. surprise surprise. i've definitely seen her before. she seems kinda mean, and i bet she smells like stinky boy socks.
I that an AA floppy hat i spy? I have a sick obsession with those hats! I see Anonymus is back, maybe they should "stylishly wander" to someone else blog to make bitchy remarks.
H
x
i love your pictures *.*
I agree with Carly... get real, you're going to get some negative comments in life, face up to it -.-
yeah, it's just plain childish of you to expect that everyone's going to say nice things all the time or agree with your fashion style, and when that doesn't happen you launch a diatribe against him or her defending yourself. it just makes you sound whiny and pretentious. why don't you learn from your friend childhoodflames... SHE takes criticism and flamers in a grown-up way: IGNORE.
Well said.. don't listen to those silly people who think they know best. Liking the cool top. x
Meow. I like that shirt =D
haters are gonna hate, mama. i can only imagine that the anon commenter was probably illiterate. =P that being said, Hamlet is my absolute favorite of all of the tragedies, and SCREW THE ANON COMMENTER. haha. =]
